Royal Ascot is one of the most prestigious and well-known events in the horse racing world and forms part of The Season. Every June, attendees descend on this famous racecourse in Berkshire, England to watch top class horse racing and enjoy impeccable hospitality and a visual feast of fashion and millinery. This Royal meeting is attended by key members of the Royal family who arrive each five days in horse-drawn carriages.
The meeting has a variety of enclosures where guests are very much encouraged to dress up and don their finest occasionwear and millinery. Over the past 10 years it has been fantastic to see the course embrace the move towards a more sustainable approach to fashion. Their famous styles guides have rental, pre-loved and upcycled fashion inspiration as part of the showcase. The Royal Enclosure is a unique area where guests have a strict dress code – formal attire is key : women must wear dresses or skirts that are of a modest length (at or just above the knee), and men must wear top hats and morning coats. The Queen Anne Enclosure is equally charming and sartorially elegant with hats and suits a must.
The Good Clothes Show London’s offering of hand-picked brands will serve up the perfect choices for your race day look – silk top hats, a vast array of millinery, contemporary womens and menswear as well as accessories will make shopping for your Royal Ascot or even Goodwood, Windsor or York race day look a walk in the park. Sarah Kate Byrne as curator of this London event will bring a wealth of experience and be on hand to assist with styling advice supported by the amazing Good Clothes Show team.
