Born and raised in Bulgaria, Southeast Europe, holding two degrees in advertising and business studies, Lora has entered the world of fashion early on when she started modelling to support her studies.

After several years on the road, across continents she started the successful career as a make-up artist and made the first make- up and hair agency in Eastern Europe. As the business grew it transformed and expanded into a clothing brand which was a hidden passion of hers.

The brand opened its first retail store in central Sofia in 2010.

In 2016 the business transformed to direct to customer after Lora moved with her family to London, where she currently works and lives. For only few years Lora Gene has been recognised as one of the best sustainable and ethical fashion brands in the UK. With publications in Vogue, InStyle, The Stylist, the Independent, Guardian and many more, Lora Gene is now thriving to change the industry towards more ethical and sustainable business model.

Lora has also been recognised as a sustainability expert with her vast expertise in the clothing supply chain. In 2021 she started mentoring in Lead for Sustainability Mentorship program by Oxford University.

She is consulting various fashion brands on sustainable supply chain operations.
