Elaine Bernstein is a British designer bringing manufacturing back to where the textile industry once thrived whilst keeping their carbon footprint to a minimum, with fabric sourced in England and all pieces manufactured in a factory in North London. Elaine’s interest in the design was fostered while working in her father’s business in Mayfair in the 1960s and 70s. After a career change, she began selling pre-loved and vintage clothes at London’s Portobello Market. It was here that she bought a 1940s dress which went on to inspire the Dorothy dress, which has been coined the ‘perfect dress’, beloved by customers.
