Jen Hogg

Upcycling & Sewing Expert & Workshop Host

Jen has been sewing and knitting for so long she can’t remember being taught.  She was a semi-finalist on The Great British Sewing Bee series 5, and runs her own business Jenerates by Jen Hogg, designing unique tools and notions for sewing and yarn crafts, which have been featured in major sewing magazines and books, on television and in podcasts, and which she sends all over the world.  She exhibits at the major sewing shows in the UK and also runs sewing retreats in Scotland.

She has a passion for upcycling and has been working with charity shop finds since her school days.  She works extensively with textile waste from local cashmere and woollen mills, using loom and slitter tape as well as pieces of cloth.  All of the photos here are of upcycled garments or items made entirely from waste textiles.

Jen lives in Glasgow with her husband and the HoggDogg Stanley.  In her time she’s been a litigation solicitor, owned a design-led giftware shop and worked with an international charity.  You can read more about her on her websiteand you’ll find Jen on Instagram and other social media as @jenerates.
