From 20 to 22 September 2024, Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre will welcome a new event giving centre stage to circular fashion. ‘The Good Clothes Show’ will present pre-loved and vintage clothing selections alongside independent labels, customisers, menders and makers.

Aiming to showcase alternative ways to enjoy shopping and engage with fashion, the event focuses on three pillars of circular fashion: swapping, donating and upcycling. “Visitors to the show are invited to bring along items that no longer work for them which can be dropped at a central collection point on arrival,” explained The Good Clothes Show team.

Donated garments will go to Smart Works, an initiative helping women re-entering the workforce to prepare for interviews or will be sorted for The Good Clothes Show Swap Party. Donations in need of a refresh will go the White Rose, a charity that cleans, repairs and reworks pre-loved garments.

“Stepping further into the show the dynamic mix of vendors will inspire visitors with new ways of thinking about fashion by enabling them to; meet customisers, on hand to demonstrate how to upgrade or revitalise what you already own; unearth one-off gems sourced by some of the UK’s best vintage and preloved sellers; and discover how designers are giving life to ‘new’ collections with deeper consideration around their impact on the planet through mindful material choices, innovative production techniques and care for the people involved in their creation.”
